SENSORY EXPERIENCE DESIGN 2019
to envision new living comforts by exploring the spirits of Bauhaus masters kept in the UNESCO heritage architecture in Berlin and Dessau, Germany

OVERVIEW
The masterclass SENSORY EXPERIENCE DESIGN 2019 focus to envision the new sensory comforts of future living 2050+. It is structured on a project of sensory experience design, which highlights the new perspectives of design, seeking to shape our living environment with full of sensory comforts reconceiving traditional interrelationship of man and nature in the age of digital technologies.
The five days masterclass is composed of a series of field exercises, lectures and hands-on workshops.
Taking a sensorial and imaginative approach to basic design principles, the participants learn the basic of sensory experience design by exploring the new vision of future living in the cross-disciplinary teams composed of the students and professionals of a variety of fields gathered from the world.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus, the masterclass starts in Berlin by reviewing “the future visions of a century ago” implanted in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage architecture by the legendary masters of Bauhaus era such as Bruno Taut and Walter Gropius. Then moving to Dessau, the hands-on workshops will be held in the original studio space in the heritage Bauhaus building.
The masterclass is tutored by Masayo Ave, the founder of the SED.Lab in cooperation with Prof. Severin Wucher, dean of Dessau design school of Anhalt University. The guest experts, in which include Prof. Juri Soolep of Estonian Academy of Arts and Prof. Ruth Mateus-Berr of University of Applied Arts Vienna, give unique input-lectures to envision the future living from a variety of perspectives.
On the final day of the masterclass, the outcome of Sensory Experience Design will be presented open for the public in Bauhaus Dessau.
